Well, the heat is on in this last quarter of 2009. With a weakened economy, an environment of uncertainty and down sales for the record industry, today's artists must be quite strategic to pull off runaway 1st week sales. They're so many very good albums not getting the sales and promotion, unfortunately! LeToya Luckett has one of the best records for 2009 and will have to relaunch Lady Love or bring plenty of videos, especially, "I Need A U!" Mariah Carey delivered some of her best work on her latest offering, Memoirs of An Imperfect Angel along with a great supporting role in the much talked about "Precious." Joss Stone is great with Colour Me Free, fun, intimate and upbeat!
Ledisi never disappoints with her stellar vocals,check out Turn Me Loose! Canadian newcomer Melanie Fiona is exquisite with true and soulful R&B fusion with The Bridge. Mario takes us on an interesting listening and club-bangin' journey with D.N.A., Lady Gaga is a fan favorite and a hot commodity, love her music, vocals and songwriting skills with an enhanced Fame Monster. Rihanna is back with Rate R and I'm sure some number one hits after a stormy 2009. Chris Brown, fresh off of community service is dropping soon and looking good in promotional pics with new album Graffiti, Alicia Keys is working hard, slaying with Jay-z on his Blueprint 3, "Empire State of Mind," and releases The Element of Freedom after a tough PR year due to her romance with producer Swizz Beatz. I believe her music will be a case of "mind over matter!" Carrie Underwood proves she's isn't going anywhere anytime soon, this former American Idol Winner keeps cementing her place in a fickle industry. Beyond her beauty, pristine vocals and songs with meaning, Carrie has the ability to bring together country and pop in a seamless manner!
